One smart handle. A fork and spoon that both think.

The BiteQ fork and spoon are interchangeable, 100% metal heads that snap onto one shared smart handle. The sensors live in the handle, so both heads measure the same data.

How do the BiteQ fork and spoon heads work?

Most of what makes BiteQ smart, the sensors, the load cell, the camera, the battery, lives in the handle detailed on the Smart Utensil page. The fork and spoon are just the part that touches your food, and either one clicks onto the same base.

Spoon

Built for anything you'd normally eat with a spoon: cereal, soup, rice and curry, yogurt, grain bowls. Weighs the load on every bite as it leaves the plate, feeding BiteQ's portion control tracking.

Fork

Built for salads, pasta, and plated mains. Tracks the same portion and pace data as the spoon, from the same handle electronics.

How it works?

How does the BiteQ Smart Utensil work?

Step 1

Pair.

Press the button and hold the utensil flat to activate the sensors. A subtle buzz and steady green light let you know calibration is complete. Open the app to connect once, and BiteQ will automatically reconnect for every future meal—just like your favorite wireless headphones.

Step 2

Scan.

Simply aim the built-in camera at your plate or a barcode and click. In seconds, BiteQ instantly identifies your meal against a database of 2.3 million foods. No typing, no searching—just effortless recognition.

Step 3

Eat.

Enjoy your meal exactly as you normally would. The sensors passively capture your bite volume, pace, and rhythm entirely in the background. When you're finished, a single click of the button ends the session.

Intelligent utensil

What are the BiteQ utensil heads made of?

The head is what touches your food and your mouth, so it's held to cutlery standards, not gadget standards. Every reading it feeds still ends up in the same measured dataset described on Data & AI at BiteQ.

Utensil Head

100% metal spoon and fork heads

Durable, non-toxic, and easy to clean and sanitize between meals.

Attachment

Snap-fit connection, shared by both heads

No tools needed to switch between the fork and the spoon.

Shared electronics

Tri-axis inertial measurement unit, load sensor, embedded camera, vibration motor

All housed in the handle, so both heads report the same data.

Dimensions

Spoon head: 19.9 cm assembled. Fork head: 20.9 cm assembled.

Grip

Soft-touch, durable, non-slip body.

Shared by both heads, for a secure hold during longer meals.

Liquid protection

Splash and spill resistant

Handles minor spills and splashes. Not IP-rated, and not intended for submersion, soaking or dishwasher cycles.

Clean the head, not the whole utensil, in water

The metal head itself is easy to rinse and sanitize. The assembled handle is not dishwasher safe or submersible: it holds a sealed battery and camera. Wipe the handle by hand, then dry it before docking.

Questions people usually ask

Frequently asked questions about the AI fork and spoon

Are the fork and spoon two separate devices?

No. BiteQ is one smart handle with the sensors, processor, and battery built in. The fork and spoon are interchangeable, 100% metal heads that snap onto that same handle, so the electronics only need to be bought once.

How do I switch between the fork and spoon head?

Both heads use the same snap-fit connection to the handle. Detach one head and press the other into place. No tools are required.

Does the fork track the same data as the spoon?

Yes. Every sensor lives in the handle, not the head, so the fork and spoon report calories, macronutrients, micronutrients and eating pace the same way, whichever one is attached.

What are the fork and spoon heads made from?

Both heads are 100% stainless-steel: durable, non-toxic, and easy to clean and sanitize between meals.

Can I clean the fork and spoon heads in the dishwasher?

The metal heads themselves are easy to clean, but the assembled handle contains a sealed battery and electronics and should NOT go in a dishwasher. Detach the head, wipe or rinse the whole utensil by hand, and dry it before docking.
