The utensil that notices what you don't.

Every meal is made up of subtle moments you rarely notice - your pace, your rhythm, the size of each bite. BiteQ passively captures these mechanics as they happen, gently guiding you towards more mindful eating. No logging.  No judgment. Just better habits.

Two seats at the table

One device. Two very different reasons to care.

Stop logging meals. Start seeing patterns.

Food journaling asks you to pause your life just to track your meal. BiteQ makes measurement invisible by building the intelligence directly into the utensil you are already holding, so you can simply focus on the food.

01

Get your evenings back.

No barcode scanning, no searching food databases, and no post-meal data entry. BiteQ passively tracks your intake without an app, straight from your utensil, without needing to open an app.

02

Feedback at the table, not at bedtime.

A subtle haptic feedback to manage eating pace, bite frequency, and portion size precisely when it matters most. A behavioral intervention in real time. Here's how that eating behavior analysis works.

03

An AI nutrition advisor on call.

Get meal recommendations built for your body, by your body. Your BiteQ AI advisor is trained directly on your personal data. By learning both what you consume and the unique mechanics of how you eat, it delivers hyper-personalized insights on exactly what to eat next.

Turn self-reported diet data into measured data.

Every nutrition program in the world runs on food recall, and food recall is where the data quality collapses. BiteQ gives clinicians, coaches and researchers an objective feed instead.

01

Hyper-personalized care.

No food database to search, no meals to type in after the fact. Just eat and BiteQ does the rest. This is what it means to track calories without an app open at the table.

02

Feedback at the table, not at bedtime.

No searching a food database or typing meals into an app after the fact, one of several ways BiteQ tracks calories without an app open at the table.

03

Retention and compliance that hold.

Adherence drops when tracking is manual. Removing the logging step removes the main reason participants disengage.

04

Beyond nutrition into behavior

Knowing what you eat is half the answer. How you eat is the other half.

Calories explain the fuel. Pace, bite size, meal duration and time of day explain the habit. Lasting change needs both and BiteQ measures them in the same moment, at the same bite. That's the thesis behind our Data & AI platform.

What splash resistant does not mean

BiteQ easily survives everyday meal splashes, but the handle contains precision electronics and cannot be submerged. To clean, simply snap off the metal head—it is 100% dishwasher and sink safe. For the smart handle, never soak it or put it in the dishwasher. Just wipe it clean by hand with a damp cloth and dry completely before docking.

In use

What a tracked meal actually looks like.

No phone on the table. No snapping photos of your plate. No guessing at 9 PM whether you had one cup of rice or two. With BiteQ, the measurement happens seamlessly in the utensil you are already holding—delivering precise portion control without the need for a food scale.

This is why BiteQ works. True behavioral change doesn't happen by adding steps to your routine—it happens by removing them entirely.

Questions people usually ask

BiteQ, answered.

How does BiteQ track nutrition without manual logging?

BiteQ integrates a sensor fusion architecture that enables the utensil to identify the food being consumed, quantify the weight of food carried per bite, and monitor hand-to-mouth movement patterns. Operating in tandem, these sensors measure the quantity actually consumed rather than the portion served, thereby eliminating the need for manual data entry within the application.

Is BiteQ dishwasher safe?

Negative. The BiteQ device incorporates embedded electronic components, a sealed internal battery, and an optical sensor; consequently, it is not dishwasher-safe. The utensil is designed to be manually wiped clean by hand, followed by thorough drying prior to charging. Exposure to dishwasher thermal conditions, chemical detergents, or extended immersion will compromise the internal hardware and render the unit permanently non-operational.

Is BiteQ waterproof?

The BiteQ device possesses splash and spill resistance; however, it is not fully waterproof. It is engineered to withstand the standard moisture associated with typical dining. The stainless steel utensil attachment (spoon or fork head) may be detached and cleaned with water in the manner of traditional cutlery. Upon being thoroughly dried, it can be reattached to the main unit. Please note that the device is not certified for liquid immersion, prolonged soaking in a filled sink, or exposure to automatic dishwasher cycles.

How long does the battery last and how do I charge it?

The BiteQ device features an integrated battery rated for full-day operation under a standard usage profile of approximately three to four meals daily. Recharging is facilitated via a pogo-pin docking system, eliminating the need for exposed external ports. Estimated battery longevity may vary depending on individual dining duration and frequency.

Does BiteQ need the app to work?

The utensil independently logs meal data, and the integrated vibration motor provides real-time haptic pace feedback without requiring proximity to a mobile device. However, synchronization via Bluetooth Low Energy to the companion application is necessary (and recommended) to access detailed nutritional analytics, behavioral trend analysis, and the AI nutrition advisor.

How accurate is the measurement?

Measurement precision is achieved through direct quantitation rather than estimation. The integrated sensor measures the exact weight of food removed from the plate with each bite, preventing unconsumed portions from distorting total intake calculations — a primary source of error in manual logging and image-based estimations. Validated accuracy metrics derived from the beta trial program and clinical research will be formally published upon completion of the study cohorts.

How is my eating data stored and used?

Dietary data is strictly associated with your account and utilized exclusively to synthesize nutritional and behavioral insights, as well as to power the artificial intelligence advisor for personalized guidance. BiteQ does not monetize or transfer personal dietary data to third parties. Comprehensive data management protocols, including specific retention schedules, are provided to participants prior to device shipment.

How is BiteQ different from a food logging app like MyFitnessPal?

Conventional nutrition-tracking applications require users to recall consumed meals and estimate serving sizes, introducing significant inaccuracy and contributing to a high rate of user attrition within weeks. Conversely, BiteQ measures consumption at the precise moment of intake, recording only the food actually removed from the plate while generating behavioral dining analytics that manual logging methods cannot replicate.

Does it work with any cuisine?

The BiteQ device is compatible with any food items consumed using a spoon or fork, encompassing rice and curry dishes, pasta, grain bowls, soups, salads, cereals, and the majority of plated meals. Food items consumed manually by hand or utilizing chopsticks fall outside the measurement capabilities of the current utensil iteration. Cuisine coverage within the food recognition model continues to expand through the ongoing beta program.

Who is BiteQ for?

BiteQ is designed for individuals seeking precise, automated nutrition tracking without the daily friction, inaccuracy, and fatigue of manual food logging. Additionally, it serves organizations that require reliable, measured dietary data to support health and wellness outcomes. This second group includes clinical care providers, registered dietitians, metabolic and weight management programs, senior living facility operators, academic and clinical research teams, as well as corporate wellness program providers.

Does BiteQ replace a dietitian?

No, BiteQ is not intended to replace a registered dietitian or healthcare provider. Instead, it acts as an objective measurement and feedback tool designed to enhance professional clinical care rather than substitute for human clinical judgment. Standard nutritional counseling often relies heavily on patient self-reporting and recall, which can be prone to human error and memory gaps. BiteQ solves this by supplying precise, real-time data on actual measured food intake and consumption behaviors such as meal duration, eating pace, and bite size. By providing dietitians and clinicians with reliable, granular insights into a patient's true habits, BiteQ enables practitioners to deliver more personalized, accurate, and effective guidance.

When will BiteQ be available and what will it cost?

BiteQ is currently in the validation phase. Device allocations are prioritized for waitlist participants in sequential cohorts, and fee structures for individual and organizational subscriptions will be communicated to waitlist registrants prior to official public release. Interested parties may submit an application to join the waitlist at the provided link.
